Shannon, a 6-5 wing player from Temple Hills, Md., currently attends The Patterson School in Lenoir, N.C. The school has one of the nation's top basketball teams.

Before coming to Patterson, Shannon attended Potomac High School, where he led the Prince Georges County, Md., area with 24.1 points per game.

"We are thrilled that Bobby Shannon is joining us," said Jirsa. "He is an explosive scorer and athlete, and I believe he can have an immediate impact on our program."

Shannon joins two other Thundering Herd recruits picked up in the early signing period. The others are Demetrius Young, a 6-7 forward from Sacramento, Calif., and Stanley Pringle, a 6-foot guard from Virginia Beach, Va.
