Founded in 1929 and built upon tradition, excellence, and character, The Orme School is located on a lush and gree 280 - acre campus in central Arizona's high country.  Orme's college preparatory academic program provides its students with the background for admission to a competative university.  Yet, an Orme education is much broader; it is designed to help students achieve greater awareness, clearer perspectives, better decision-making capabilites, self-discipline, and wise use of leisure time.  Baseball, Basketball, football, softball, tennis, track, and volleyball teams compete in Arizona interscholastic Association.  Orme is one of the few boarding schools in the nation that competes against public rather than private schools.  A diverse horsemanship program offers Western and English riding, hunter-jumper, dressage, gymkhana, roping, and rodeo.  During the annual Fine Arts Festival, students participate in week-long workshops under the leadership of professional artists.  The annual Caravan offers a choice of several week-long experimental learning adventures.
