More Information on Kentucky

Oneida Baptist Institute is a Christian boarding school for students in grades 6-12.  OBI was founded in 1899.  The average enrollment is 325 and the school has approximately 150 full-time faculty and support staff.  The student body consists of teens from the local community, across Kentucky, all over the U.S. and around the world.

An 11:1 student-teacher ratio, a Tutoring Lab with a 2:1 student-teacher ratio an nightly study hall are just a few of the reasons many students find it easier to excel academically at Oneida.

OBI has a 200-acre farm and a full agriculture program.  Farm chores are just one example of a job a young person may have in the student work program.  Each student at Oneida  must have a job, and many sports fulfill this requirement.

An array of co-curricular activities and organizations keep Oneida young people productively busy.  There is a no-cut policy.  Anyone who is willing to try hard and keep the rules may join a team.

A student need not be a Christian or come from a Christian home to attend OBI.  Oneida faculty and staff serve as positive role models and present the gospel regularly, while respecting each young person's background and tradition.  Oneida Baptist Institute strives to help its students grown mentally, spiritually, socially and emotionally.
