Baylor is a coeducational day and boarding school for grades 6-12.  We
welcome and enroll students of all faiths, races, and backgrounds, and
offer over $2 million in need-based financial aid each year.  We are
located in Chattanooga, Tenn. and have approximately 1080 students.  Our
mission is to instill in students the desire and ability to make a
positive difference in the world.

Our small classes of 13 are just one of the things that make our academic
program strong.  At Baylor students quickly find peers who value academic
achievement and are surrounded by a faculty committed to helping them
reach their full academic potential.  Our diverse curriculum includes AP
and Honors courses, and a wide array of electives.  Beginning in grade six
and all the way through senior year, students also have an advisor.  One
hundred percent of our graduates attend college and universities – many of
them are some of the countries most prestigious institutions.  

The athletic program at Baylor School is student-centered and an integral
part of the student’s total educational experience.  Students benefit from
the development of physical fitness, leadership, teamwork, social skills,
self-discipline, and integrity.  Above all, our program emphasizes good
sportsmanship, both on and off the field.  At the same time, we like to
win and produce very competitive teams.  We have won over 116 state
championships and over half of those titles have been won in the last 15
years.  

At Baylor we believe that the benefits of extracurricular activities and
competitive athletics are fundamental to a child’s total education.  In
addition to mandatory sports and afternoon activities, we provide a
dizzying number of clubs and organizations.  From the Swing Dance Club to
the Science Club, there are certainly ample opportunities to try it all.
Baylor’s Student Activities Director and the Student Activities Team, as
well as the Walkabout Office, plan off-campus excursions every weekend.
