More Information on Texas

Founded in 1893, TMI is the oldest Episcopal School in the southwest.  The school is a 6-12 co-educational college preparatory school with deep roots in the Episcopal Church.  A member of the National Association of Episcopal Schools, the Southwestern Association of Episcopal Schools, TMI-The Episcopal School of Texas is fully accredited by the Independent School Association of the Southwest.  ISAS schools are recognized as premier private schools not only in the southwest but nationally as well.  Adhering to the highest standards of academic excellence, the mission of TMI is to provide an excellent educational community with values based on the teachings of Jesus Christ, challenging motivated students to develop their full potential in service and leadership.  At TMI we are sincere about our mission; it is the touchstone for every decision made on the campus for students, faculty and administrators.

In less formal terms-TMI is a wonderfully warm and inviting community.  Nestled among the hills at the start of the Texas Hill Country, the landscape is painted year round with the green of junipers and live oaks along with wildflower gardens and fields, while the campus itself is bustling with activity.  Library, labs, playing fields and our distinguished optional military program create venues for developing the whole person.  Our faculty, equipped with the best in education and experience, are dedicated to the task of helping each student reach his or her full potential.  Such dedication is not limited to the classroom but flows outward with enthusiasm wherever students are found.  We offer a day student program for students in grades 6-12 as well as a five and seven day residential life program for students in grads 9-12.

For those of you who are considering TMI for the first time, I urge you to come and visit the campus.  You will be impressed with the happiness found of the faces of the students and the rich community of teachers, parents, staff, administration, alumni and board, who were committed to the goals of TMI.  Those goals include moral integrity, scholastic aptitude, spiritual maturity and well-roundedness.  Students achieve those goals through a rigorous academic curriculum, extra-curricular activities to include a full range of athletic opportunities, a fine arts program, daily chapel, and an optional JROTC program that consistently earns the Honor Unit with Distinction Award.

Non-Discriminatory Statement

TMI-The Episcopal School of Texas does not discriminate in its selection of students or its administration of educational policies, financial aid, merit scholarships and other school-administered programs on the basis of race, gender, religion or ethnic origin.
